Sep 10, 2016, In his latest speech the Gülenist terror cult (FETÖ) leader Fetullah Gülen said that his sleeping soldiers were awaiting an order to take action, implying that Turkey may soon be face to face with another coup threat against the democratically-elected government.

Let's not forget that "Choice" when it comes to Charter Schools and Vouchers is not really about "Choice". The children that enter those schools are put through an application process. It is literally 'killing education' as we have come to know it in the USA. Your child may have had a good experience. Many other children in charter schools do NOT. And it is selfish to ignore how US society will be negatively affected by charter schools in the long run through re-segregation, financial failures of poorly run schools, and poorly educated children. They are not a magic bullet to fix American education.

WHAT IS A GULEN CHARTER SCHOOL?
A Gulen charter school is a publicly-funded (your tax $$) charter school that was founded and is run by individuals who are secretly followers of a Turkish imam named Fethullah Gulen. Gulen's followers are called Gulenists, and collectively they form a worldwide covert network called the Gulen Movement. The key defining feature of Gulen charter schools is that control of the schools' policies and (most importantly) finances lies entirely in the hands of Gulenists. Turkey should be a top priority in U.S. foreign policy, a top adviser to President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday in an article that slammed Barack Obama for failing to understand Ankara's geopolitical position.
"We must begin with understanding that Turkey is vital to U.S. interests," retired Gen. Michael Flynn wrote for the Hill newspaper. He also called Turkey "a source of stability in the region".
Flynn was a key national security adviser to Trump during his presidential campaign and is expected by many to be appointed to a Cabinet position, possibly as defense secretary.
The veteran general wrote that it was "an unwise policy" for the Obama administration to keep Ankara at arm's length,

CIA's former agent Graham Fuller was one of the main early advocates of using the Muslim Brotherhood and Fethullah Gulen to advgance U.S. foreign policy. In no country has the Fethullah Gülen movement become more of a political issue than in The Netherlands. A television item in 2008 resulted in questions in parliament to the Minister of Social Affairs about a possible negative influence by the movement on the integration of Turks in Dutch society. Subsequently the movement was investigated by the Dutch intelligence organization AIVD. The AIVD did not recognize a threat to Dutch society. October 29, 2015 USA Today - WASHINGTON — A Turkish religious movement has secretly funded as many as 200 trips to Turkey for members of Congress and staff since 2008, apparently repeatedly violating House rules and possibly federal law, a USA TODAY investigation has found.
The group — a worldwide moderate Islamic movement led by a religious scholar named Fethullah Gülen — has been accused by theTurkish government of attempting a coup in that country. Fethullah Gulen - Commonly referred to as a scholar, Gulen only attended school through 5th grade. Muhammed Fethullah Gülen \is a Turkish preacher, former imam, writer, and political figure. He is the founder of the en movement(known as Hizmet meaning service in Turkish). He currently lives in self-imposed exile in the United States, residing in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania.
Gülen teaches a Hanafi version of Islam, deriving from Sunni Muslim scholar Said Nursî's teachings. Gülen has stated that he believes in science, interfaith dialogue among the People of the Book, and multi-party democracy. He has initiated such dialogue with the Vatican and some Jewish organization. He also oversees the Cosmos Foundation and the Gulen Institute. |
Supposedly the main reason the CIA backed Gulen in entering our country was because he was ill. Now the information comes out he has Type II Diabetes of which can be treated anywhere in the world. There is more to this CIA backing as is normal with the CIA than meets the eye. In 1999, after traveling to the USA for medical treatment, Gülen was charged in Turkey with trying to create an Islamic state. Since then he has remained in Pennsylvania. After the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service in 2007 denied his bid for a visa as an "alien of extraordinary ability in education," Gülen sued, saying his followers "had established more than 600 educational institutions" worldwide. He eventually prevailed, earning a green card in 2008. But Turkish educators in the USA continue to disavow their ties.
GOOD NEWS FOR MAINE! On March 4, 2014, the Maine Charter School Commission voted unanimously to not allow the Lewiston Auburn Charter School's application to move forward; citing numerous reasons including financial ambiguity, curriculum "misalignment" to state standards, and lack of community involvement. And of course there's always that other elephant in the room that no one wants to address -- the Gulen connection.
