Alice Bailey's Input into the World Core Curriculum!
According to Wikipedia's Revision History of the English version of its Robert Muller article (which can be accessed by clicking the "view history" tab near the top right corner of the present article), the statement that the "underlying philosophy upon which The Robert Muller School is based will be found in the teachings set forth in the books of Alice A. Bailey", which had been included in previous incarnations of the same article prior to June 30th 2011, and which indeed still remains in its present Italian version, is "incorrect"!
According to user "Rmswcc" (who, as it turns out, apparently doesn't exist!) "The information was previously incorrect, and it has been corrected. Dr. Muller was not associated with Alice A. Bailey or her books"!
I suppose a distinction ought to be made here between "World Core Curriculum Manual" (where the disputed quote is indeed found) and "World Core Curriculum Journal Volume I" (whose "References [to paraphrases] for Curriculum Philosophy" on p. 11 lists ten references - ALL from three of Theosophist Alice A. Bailey's books).
Both of these items are freely obtainable and can be found using an inter-library loan web resource such as Worldcat, if still in doubt.
Unfortunately all either of them are good for is proving this most unfortunate fact, that the philosophy of this curriculum, which won Muller (who has become known as "the Philosopher" and " Prophet of Hope" of the United Nations) the "UNESCO Prize for Peace Education" in 1989, actually IS Theosophical in origin (the preface of the curriculum continues that its underlying philosophy will also be found in the "teachings of [Theosophical Society founder H. P. Blavatsky's guru] M. Morya as given in the Agni Yoga Series books").
According to Lucis Trust's own website "Alice and Foster Bailey were serious students and teachers of Theosophy, a spiritual tradition which views Lucifer as one of the solar Angels, those advanced Beings Who Theosophy says descended (thus 'the fall') from Venus to our planet eons ago to bring the principle of mind to what was then animal-man. In the theosophical perspective, the descent of these solar Angels was not a fall into sin or disgrace but rather an act of great sacrifice, as is suggested in the name 'Lucifer' which means light-bearer".
Blavatsky herself taught "…it is but natural — even from the dead letter standpoint — to view Satan, the Serpent of Genesis, as the real creator and benefactor, the Father of Spiritual mankind. For it is he who was the 'Harbinger of Light,' bright radiant Lucifer, who opened the eyes of the automaton created by Jehovah, as alleged; and he who was the first to whisper: 'in the day ye eat thereof ye shall be as elohim, knowing good and evil' — can only be regarded in the light of a saviour" (see Anthropogenesis, p. 243, also Theosophist Magazine September 1960-April 1961, p. 23).
Whereas it would have no doubt been infinitely more comforting to accept that the link between Robert Muller and Alice Bailey was "incorrect", I can only hope that this dreadfully bad news reaches the multitudes of 501(c)(3) church leaders, who have thus far, perhaps unwittingly, left their congregations naked and destitute, while there's still time to ease out of their arrangement with the IRS (which prohibits them from being an "action organization" - i.e., it "may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities" in exchange for "exemption from federal income tax and eligibility to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.") and teach sound doctrine rather than vain traditions of men.
"...this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment." (see 1 JN 3:23)
