Schoolhouse Home" is where your child stays at home and learning an education by their parents or other parents within a Home School Co-Op. Whatever means parents work out and whatever programs they follow has got to be better than their children being educated by our "government" indoctrination classrooms.
"Homeschooling, once considered by academia the best way to make sure a child couldn't get into college, has grown in student number and stature, as more and more parents look for an alternative to enrolling their children in failing gov schools. According to the most recent data the number of K–12 children educated at home increased from 1.09 million in 2003 to 1,773,000 in 2012. That means they make up 3.4% of the nation’s school population. The college admissions personnel who used to view homeschooled applicants with skepticism are now scrambling to recruit and enroll students who collectively score better on the SAT than their peers...Jarratt, at The Heartland Institute, which publishes School Reform News, says home education generally prepares children for college better than gov schools do."
Some teachers follow the philosphy of separating children from their parents - home schooling keeps children and their parents connected in solid relationships. It allows the family to vacation as they chose, there is no 6 hours at school and another 2-3 doing homework.

There are a few Home School Programs still available today which are NOT following the Common Core Standards. Still encouraging you to Home School, parents need to understand if you are home schooling your child on a non-Common Core curriculum most likely your child will be tested by your school district if you decide to stop home schooling and put him/her back into the school system.

ROBINSON CURRICULUM: No Common Core K-12 Classes http://www.robinsoncurriculum.com
An Excellent K-12 Home School Curriculum Developed by a scientist and his six children -
I can honestly say that the six Robinson children in our home school were, on average, at least two years ahead of my own abilities at their ages and have a far higher potential for the future than did I. Moreover, by the age of about 15, they were surpassing at least 98% of the college freshmen that I taught at the University of California at San Diego.
