MIKE HUCKABEE!
Just remember election time is coming and just because they say they are a Conservative or Republican - it is their actions that will give you the "proof in the pudding"!
Dec 11, 2013 – “Mike Huckabee’s Common Core Is Dead” line not what he told the CCSSO.
One of the more prominent conservative defenders of the Common Core State Standards has been former Arkansas governor and one-time presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. Just to use one example, Huckabee hosted former Michigan governor John Engler on his radio show May 1, 2013, to discuss why he believed the common core is important for the nation’s schools. Huckabee said on the show that conservatives in particular should be fans of the standards, not opponents.
On Dec 8, 2013 on his former Fox News radio show he stated that common core has been used inappropriately to justify collecting student data, although beyond general allusions to fears about federal government getting its hands on that data, he doesn’t specify what’s been inappropriate about that data collection.
His name was listed as a supporter on Jeb Bush’s “Common Core” site from the beginning.
He also stated that Common Core had been hijacked and was basically dead! Hijacked by whom? In what way? The CCSSO and Jeb Bush along with Bill Gates were in control from the beginning. He called for Common Core (the name) to disappear from education policy lexicon but that the states shouldn’t back away from the “high education standards” that it produced.
BUT, BUT, BUT, - that ISN’T quite what he said at his meeting with the CCSSO (Council of Chief State Officers – another group that should be eliminated along with the school unions) on Nov 2013.
He was very strong on one point expressing “his” concern that the “NAME” “COMMON CORE” HAD BECOME POLITICALLY TOXIC. Not damaging to our children, but to the politics of it.
“Rebrand it, refocus it, but don’t retreat” which is a far cry from stating he thought “Common Core is Dead”. Never ever forget the CCSSO, Unions, National Governors Assoc., oversaw the whole development with the bad guy’s money. The “bad guys” even paid of the National PTA to not resist Common Core.
He also didn’t tell the CCSSO that he was dissatisfied with the actual implementation of the common core at the state and local level, such as the curricula and books being used with it.
Never, ever forget Common Core was implemented in almost every state in the SUMMER when most legislators were not there. The governors themselves took on the implementation themselves. No votes! Just do it!
A Louisiana grassroots activists told Breitbart News they warned a member of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s team last week that his name was listed on a pro-Common Core PAC’s website as a supporter of the “Unicorns Are Not Real” campaign, an effort to ridicule opponents of the controversial standards.
At for a finisher since the elections are getting closer, let us NOT forget Rick Scott’s antics with Common Core. They will tell you they love our children BUT –
Scott on Sept 23, 2013 contacted Arne Duncan about his fears regarding a rebellion from the people of Florida over Common Core – “What should I do he whined to Duncan. Duncan first e-mailed Bush “Scott is calling me. Any advice?”
Bush advised Duncan to tell Scott that some of the people are "fearful of the rebellion" brewing around the program, and that he "wants to stop using the term common core but keep the standards, and I asked if he had any "specific things” that the federal government is doing or perceived to be doing" that he found objectionable and he didn’t have any.
The same day Scott issued a press release detailing his plan to protect FL from any Federal government overreach in education policy”
Maybe the voters of Florida just weren’t happy with his support of Jeb Bush or Common Core. Jen Bush “hard-nosed” several of Florida’s governors who were complaining they didn’t have the budget to fund Common Core and Scott pushed back. Let us never in Florida Forget Terry Trussel.

NOT EVERYONE IS HAPPY WITH COMMON CORE!
Seems to be the norm lately, if the People don't like a program we have put out - just keep "REBRANDING" IT!
No one group has worked harder than Utahians Against Common Core to get the truth out to parents on how this whole scheme has been put in place. No one is listening - at least not enough parents to remove these freaks from their elected positions and take control of their childrens education themselves.
Original source documents arm honest people who want to know the truth about Common Core to take back the reins of control. Changing the name of Common Core became the scam of the day when former Gov. Huckabee told the CCSSO to not get rid of Common Core because it had become TOXIC, but to rebrand it, rename it and soon parents wouldn't even realize their children were still using Common Core.
This is important because proponents are increasing false advertisements about Common Core. They’re also hiding the Common Core Inititative under different names, such as “Utah Core” or “Indiana Core“ or Florida's fancy name Florida Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. Link "
Despite the re-branding, the state's standards will continue to comply with the requirements of the Common Core, a set of educational benchmarks meant to get students ready for college and careers.
The new Common Core tests are expected to be more difficult, which means fewer students will likely pass. About half as many New York and Kentucky students met state goals when those states switched to Common Core exams. This is the reason Florida changed their grading system to prepare for fewer students passing - (they can't be scored lower than 50 for failing).
At their heart, the standards in Florida are still Common Core standards," said Anne Hyslop, a policy analyst with New America Foundation's Education Policy Program, noting that many of the proposed changes are minor. Hyslop added: "The rebranding and messaging is largely political."
Unfortunately, well intentioned people whom we trust to tell us the truth often simply don’t know the whole story. It is up to us to find out for ourselves. Please go go directly to source documents to fact-check claims being made by proponents of Common Core.
(This slightly updated syllabus was shared in a previous post. It is republished today because Alisa, Renee and I are speaking in Vernal tonight and we want to point our Vernal friends to solid information. If anyone wants to come to the meeting tonight, you are welcome. There is, of course, no charge and the event begins at 7:00.)

Liz Coleman - Mother of David Coleman, who states he is responsible for the CCSS
HOW DID THIS ALL HAPPEN?
Common Core was not developed by the states but rather by the "COMMON CORE REGIME" along with Obama's stimulus $$ and pushed by the duped Republican governors and business groups.
The push by a DC-based nonprofit called Achieve, Inc., which is the Education division of Rupert Murdoch‘s News Corp., under the auspices of the National Governors Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) in 2007. Neither the NGA nor CCSSO (which are merely trade associations with private membership lists) had a grant of legislative authority from the states to develop national standards. In fact, Common Core was written by the same progressive education reformers who have been trying to impose a national curriculum for decades. This time, they were savvy enough to invoke the “cover”of NGA so they could paint Common Core as a “state-led” effort. To the extent states had any input, it was limited to offering suggestions that may or may not have been accepted by the people in control.
Truth:
GATES FOUNDATION underwrote( paid for) & promoted the COMMON CORE curriculum scheme along with Jeb Bush's 2 foundations.
RUPERT MURDOCH's News Corp built the database infrastructure inBLOOM evolving out of the above partnership this was created to operate the database.
The U.S. Department of Education (USED) did not create the Standards, but it was deeply involved in the effort to gather together the various trade associations and private foundations to do the work that USED wanted done.
Once Common Core was presented, USED “persuaded” the states to adopt it by tying the adoption to the opportunity to obtain Race to the Top (RTTT) funding. No Common Core, no RTTT money. (Since then, USED has also attempted to lure states into the Common Core by dangling No Child Left Behind waivers as a reward for adopting the national Standards and national tests. In both RTTT and NCLB waivers, Florida decided to play the game – piece by piece, dollar by dollar.
USED is funding the national tests that are being created by two testing consortia (called SMARTER Balanced and PARCC – Florida is a member of PARCC). Obviously, what’s on the PARCC test will dictate what is taught in Florida classrooms – in other words, it will dictate curriculum. So by funding the tests, USED will eventually control the Florida curriculum – in violation of three federal statutes.
Florida's Governor Scott has since state he pulled Florida out of PARCC - we have no proof of that.

COMMON CORE - BAD FOR OUR CHILDREN!
1. Common Core State Standards (CCSS), as an education reform policy, does not satisfy the four pillars of education reform: 1) Accountability 2) More State and Local Control 3) Focusing resources on proven educational methods and 4) Expanded choices for parents. Accountability for implementing the Common Core Standards (that were not properly piloted or vetted) unfairly rests predominantly, and without proper balance, in the hands of the classroom teacher. State of Florida educators were not properly trained in the standards prior to rollout and implementation; State of Florida educators were not asked to provide input during the creation and development of the standards; and State of Florida educators are being forced to implement the Standards without allowances for feedback or changes.
State and local control of education is further removed by Common Core as it cements additional layers of bureaucracy before educational process improvements and timely changes to individual school district student needs can be implemented. Common Core is not focused on proven educational methods as it is not the return to classical education and, in fact, resembles and is more closely aligned with the failed outcome-based education policy. School choice is not an element of Common Core as it has been said on more than one occasion by Florida education legislators and policy experts – Common Core will not cause the proliferation of charter schools, et al. In addition, Common Core has in practicum moved parents further away from the educational process – student learning and caring involvement in their child’s academic needs/strengths. read more…Common Core: 95 Reasons why it is bad Public Policy
